IBB x Klinika Capriles
workshops with patients
"draw your happiness"
"printing with paint"
zines!
One of my favourite things about working at the IBB was how I could combine my background in psychology and my current adventure as an artist in workshops with patients of the Capriles Clinic

At IBB, located within the only psychiatric clinic for the Dutch Caribbean, patients from various islands receive treatment and reside both short and longterm. Since its inception, IBB has aimed to make art accessible to these patients.

During our stay, we conducted Tuesday morning workshops with varying group sizes, offering activities like “Draw your Happiness,” “Printing with Paint,” and “Make Your Own Zine” to foster a sense of home through art.

Patients explored self-expression and new creative avenues, with some eager to continue their artistic pursuits independently. Workshops also served as therapeutic outlets, addressing issues like perfectionism and trauma processing through art.

To encourage sharing and visibility, patients were invited to display their work in the workshop room and contribute to the IBBieb, allowing their creations to be the workshop room and contribute to the IBBieb, allowing their creations to be seen by peers, staff, and visitors.
